Hunan Provincial Culture and Tourism Bureaus Directors Symposium Kicks off

The Hunan Provincial Culture and Tourism Bureaus Directors Symposium was held in Changsha on July 31, 2019. Hunan’s culture and tourism integrated development has achieved effective results, thanks to the smooth progress of institutional reform. In the first quarter of this year, the cultural and creative industries realized an added value of nearly 48 billion CNY, accounting for 5.75% of provincial GDP. The province received 390 million domestic and foreign arrivals, growing by 11.43% year on year. The total tourism revenue was over 438 billion CNY, a year-on-year increase of 16.13%.Hunan government started establishing database management platform for the key cultural and tourism industrial projects and enterprises in H1. As of June, 351 projects are under construction, with a total investment of more than 579 billion CNY. The integration of top ten regions, top ten projects, and top ten activities, has greatly fueled Hunan’s booming development of tourism performance. More cultural relics protection units, museums, memorial halls, and intangible cultural heritage practice places are included in the tourist routes. The Malanshan Video Cultural Creation Park and the Dawangshan Cultural Tourism Town realized cultural tourism cluster development. The classic culture-related travel routes, such as the Hunan-Jiangxi Border Area and the Greater Western Hunan Areas, have effectively assisted the fight against poverty. The cultural trade has also been expanded. The province exported 8.05 billion CNY of cultural products between January and May, a year-on-year increase of 72.9%. In the second half of this year, Hunan government will:- Create and stage a batch of cultural works and performances in celebration of the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China;- hold a conference on promoting integrated development of culture and tourism industries, and release relevant measures; and,- select top ten cultural tourism landmarks, cultural tourism towns, and cultural tourism enterprises, and offer favorable policies to support their development.
